Hair Salon Near Bridgewater, MA

If you live in Bridgewater, you already know Route 18. It runs straight through the common, past the rotary where Routes 18, 28 and 104 come together, and continues north into East Bridgewater. Follow it about ten minutes and you arrive at Salon Esprit — a full-service hair salon at 225 Bedford Street, in the Carriage Crossing plaza, with free parking at the door.

We have been caring for hair on this stretch of Route 18 for over 30 years, and a good share of our chairs are filled by people who drive up from Bridgewater. Some are Bridgewater State students who want color that grows out gracefully between visits home. Some have been coming for years and now bring their daughters. What they have in common is a short, simple drive and a stylist who remembers their history.

Why Bridgewater Clients Drive to Salon Esprit

Bridgewater is well served for a lot of things, but a salon is a relationship, not an errand. People travel for a colorist they trust in a way they would never travel for a hardware store. The clients who come to us from Bridgewater tend to arrive for one of three reasons: they want a colorist who will tell them the truth about what their hair can handle, they want the same person in the chair every time, or they were sent by a friend who had already found both.

It helps that the drive is genuinely easy. There is no highway, no rotary to fight beyond your own, and no parking problem waiting at the other end. For a lot of our Bridgewater regulars, the salon is closer than the places they would consider closer.

Hairdresser trims a client's long brown hair using scissors and a comb (close-up).

Convenient Location & Parking

Easy Access from Bridgewater

  • From Bridgewater center / the common rotary — take Route 18 north. It becomes Bedford Street in East Bridgewater and runs directly past the salon. About 10–12 minutes.
  • From Bridgewater State University — Summer Street to the rotary, then Route 18 north. About 12 minutes from the main campus on Summer Street.
  • From the Bridgewater commuter rail station on Burrill Avenue — back through campus to Route 18 north. About 13 minutes, which makes an after-work appointment realistic if you park at the station.
  • From the Route 24 / Route 104 interchange — Route 104 east through the center, then north on Route 18. About 15 minutes.
  • From South Bridgewater or the Lake Nippenicket side of town — Route 104 east to Route 18 north, roughly 18 minutes.

Parking & Transportation

  • Free parking — Carriage Crossing is a surface plaza on Route 18 with free parking directly outside the salon.
  • Commuter rail — Bridgewater station sits on the east end of the Bridgewater State University campus on Burrill Avenue, on the Middleborough Main Line, with roughly 500 parking spaces. It is a park-and-ride, not a route to us — the salon is a drive from the station, not a walk.
  • Bus — Brockton Area Transit serves the BSU campus with five weekday round-trips into the BAT Centre hub, but there is no bus route between Bridgewater and East Bridgewater. Plan to drive.
  • Accessibility — ground-floor entrance, level approach from the plaza lot, no stairs.

Questions From Bridgewater Clients

How far is Salon Esprit from Bridgewater?

Roughly 10 to 12 minutes from Bridgewater center. Route 18 runs from the common rotary straight north into East Bridgewater, where it becomes Bedford Street and passes the salon at number 225. There are no turns to remember.

Yes. A good number of our Bridgewater clients are students, faculty and staff at BSU, and we book around class blocks and semester breaks. Late August and early September fill quickly — book ahead if you want color before the semester starts.

No. Carriage Crossing is a plaza with a free surface lot on Route 18. Park at the door, walk in.

With a consultation. Bring photos of what you like and, if you have it, an honest history of what has been on your hair — box color and previous lightening both change what is possible in a single visit. We would rather map out two appointments that get you there than promise one that damages your hair.
